DORSEY ALSTON WINS 2008 WEB AWARD

ATLANTA – Dorsey Alston, REALTORS® has been recognized as having one of the top real estate websites in the world by the Web Marketing Association.  Now in its 12th year, the WebAwards is the premier annual website award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

The Dorsey Alston website, www.dorseyalston.com, received a Real Estate Standard of Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Website Development. The site was selected from among more than 2,400 sites in 47 countries. Dorsey Alston was the only real estate brokerage website in Georgia to win an award.

The WebAward judges included independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of Web site development. They judged entries on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.  The Dorsey site scored well above the WebAward winner’s average scores with a 58 overall score against the industry average of 47 and WebAward winners in other industries of 51.6.

The judges specifically applauded the site’s design and layout and its use of Web 2.0, AJAX and Flash, making the site more dynamic and efficient.   They also remarked that the site was “convenient and highly useful for real estate”.

Glick Interactive, an Atlanta-based web development and design firm designed the Dorsey Alston website.  Abhi Goel and Ankur Gupta lead the development team at Glick.

Jody Abstance, President and Managing Broker for Dorsey Alston, thanked Glick Interactive and its CEO, Fred Tanzella, for his team’s work on the project and credited the website with being an integral part of Dorsey Alston’s success in the Atlanta market. “We receive compliments from buyers and sellers about the site all the time, but it’s impressive to be among the best real estate sites in the world according to the Web Marketing Association”, Abstance said.

“Dorsey Alston has seen enormous growth recently with the addition of 45 agents in just the past three weeks.  The site that the Glick Interactive team built easily allows us to add agents, their listings, and additional pages that are specific to each agent,” stated Beth Stedman, the VP of Operations for Dorsey Alston.
