For the fifth year, the Chastain Park Conservancy presents Rock Chastain, bringing together the people, the park, the fun, and the all-important funds under the stars at State Bank Amphitheatre.
10,000 Maniacs, Yellow Brick Road – the ultimate Elton John tribute band and local Atlantafavorites, Dreambrother and Pony League will take the stage of the newly renovated historic amphitheatre in Chastain Park on Thursday, Oct. 4. Proceeds go to the Conservancy’s mission to restore, enhance, maintain and preserve Atlanta’s largest and growing park. Dorsey Alston Realtors and its agents Stacy Vaughn, Kathy Ghirardini, Kim Crahan, Frank Nelson, Britton McLeod, Robin Conklin, Carson Matthews, Cia Cummings, Molly Beery, and Geoff Friedman are proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of Rock Chastain.
Did you know more than two million people visit the park each year? And by visit, we mean use — whether playing sports through NYO, riding horses at the Chastain Horse Park, attending concerts at the amphitheatre, playing golf or tennis, enjoying the playground, swimming at the Chastain Park Pool, taking a class at the Chastain Arts Center or walking the nearly six miles of ThePATH trails.
There’s literally something for everyone.
Coordinating and planning the overall health and wellness of the 268-acre park is led by theChastain Park Conservancy, a nonprofit organization and extension of the Atlanta Parks Department, dedicated to the stewardship of the park’s natural and historic resources.
For 14 years, the Conservancy has purposefully and diligently championed the park, drafting a 20-year master plan with neighbors, stakeholders, and the city of Atlanta, and raising more than $4 million for ongoing improvements. PLAYChastain, a state-of-the-art addition and renovation to the existing Chastain Park Playground, WALK Chastain, a widening of the PATH along Powers Ferry Road and upcoming widening of The PATH on West Wieuca Road as well asongoing efforts of monkey bars and shade structures at the playground, new bocce ball courts and eventamenities are only some of the Conservancy projects adding to the betterment of the park.
All of this work and coordination takes people, talent, engagement, and funds, and Rock Chastain is the largest and most important fundraiser for the Chastain Park Conservancy.
Whether you are a fan of 10,000 Maniacs, Elton John’s greatest hits, supporting local artists, or you simply love Chastain Park and want to see it maintained and improved —or, like us, you check all three boxes—please join us Oct. 4 for this incredible show!
