It is a great week when a Dorsey Alston Realtor becomes an Internet sensation for all the right reasons.
That would be our own Shanna Smith, who unintentionally got caught up in the story of the year so far in Atlanta real estate.
While she would not disclose the buyer of her listing on Dudley Lane, the reporters at the Atlanta Business Chronicle crawled through the public filings and found a famous name; former University of Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is currently the quarterback of the NFL’s Detroit Lions.
The nearly 10,000 square-foot home demanded a sophisticated buyer. It was designed by Harrison Design and built by James Cotton-Builders II with seven bedrooms, a guest house, white oak floors, custom iron work, a terrace level theater, a recreation area and steel doors that open onto a pool, jacuzzi and cabana.
It is one of the most exquisite homes to hit the market this year.
The house is a story in and of itself, but because of the buyer, it became national news, earning mentions on ESPN, CBS, the Detroit Free Press and many, many others.
This doesn’t mean the famous QB and his wife, Kelly, are moving to Atlanta. They already live here, as evidenced by Kelly’s Instagram post from two years ago announcing they were listing their Brookhaven townhouse for sale.
Our client’s privacy is important to us, as we choose to operate with the highest levels of honesty and integrity in helping our clients buy and sell their homes. We are posting this because the names have been identified elsewhere, and Dorsey Alston wants to celebrate Shanna and her success on a job well done.
