For the fifth year, the Chastain Park Conservancy presents Rock Chastain , bringing together the people, the park, the fun and the all-important funds under the stars at State Bank Amphitheatre .
10,000 Maniacs , Yellow Brick Road – the ultimate Elton John tribute band and local Atlantafavorites, Dreambrother and Pony League will take the stage of the newly renovatedhistoricamphitheatre in Chastain ParkonThursday Oct. 4. Coordinating and planning the overall health and wellness of the 268-acre park is lead by theChastain Park Conservancy,nonprofit organization andextension of the Atlanta parks department,dedicated to the stewardship of the park’s natural and historic resources.
For 14 years, the Conservancy has purposefully and diligently championed the park, drafting a 20-year master plan with neighbors, stakeholders and the city of Atlanta, and raising more than $4 million for ongoing improvements. PLAYChastain, astate-of-the-art addition and renovation to the existing Chastain Park Playground, WALK Chastain, awidening of the PATH along Powers Ferry Road and upcoming wideningofThe PATH onWest Wieuca Road as well asongoing efforts ofmonkey bars and shade structures at the playground, new bocce ball courts and eventamenities are only some of the Conservancy projects adding to the betterment ofthe park.
All of this work and coordination takes people, talent, engagement and funds, and Rock Chastain is the largest and most important fundraiser for the Chastain Park Conservancy.
