Welcome to our New Agents!

Over the last month, several new agents have joined the Dorsey Alston family.

We are pleased to welcome Katie Daniel, Jackie Evans, Jamie Grace Miller, Leanne Shaw, Kelli Welhaf and Chuck Sykes! And we are thrilled to introduce them to you on the blog by asking them a few questions about their careers, where they like to hang out in their homes and their favorite places to eat.

Their responses have been edited.

Dr. Chuck Sykes’ daughter is Dorsey Alston Realtor extraordinaire Julia Sykes. She is rapidly expanding her business, and the recently retired physician is lending his entrepreneurial skills and home building/remodeling experience to assist in Julia’s needs. He’s been around real estate most of his life. his mother, sister and wife all have been successful Realtors.

DA: What is your favorite space in your house?

CS: My favorite room in my house is my “mullet room”— business in the front, party in the back. It included my radiology home workstation for on-call interpretation of imaging studies obtained at multiple Wellstar metro Atlanta hospitals. Additionally it houses my rather elaborate Breweriana, record album and stamp collections.

Lenna Shaw
Leanne Shaw has lived in Atlanta for more than 40 years, raising her family in historic Brookhaven. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table and is eager to share this with her clients, who she considers family. An impressive career that has included sales and marketing, garden design and the ultimate customer service calling, a Delta Flight Attendant, now comes full circle to residential home sales.

DA: Why did you become a Realtor?

LS: Forever, folks have said, “You should have your license! It’s so up your alley.”

Kelli Welhaf became a Realtor to serve the community and help people either buy their dream home or sell their current home to move on to their next adventure in life. She had an incredibly positive experience purchasing her first house with her fiancé and was inspired. Kelli has fallen in love with the industry.

DA: What is your favorite place to eat out?

KW: My current favorite place to eat in Atlanta, which we are new residents to Sandy Springs, is Rumi’s on Roswell Road. The food and service never disappoints. I recommend it to everyone who visits us or asks for restaurant advice.

Kelli Welhaf

Jackie Evans
Jackie Evans brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience to assist her clients in selling or finding the perfect place to call home. Prior to real estate, Jackie pursued a career in hospitality where she served as an executive with Marriott and Starwood properties in Atlanta and Puerto Rico. There she learned the value of maintaining relationships, strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and creative marketing strategies to help clients achieve their real estate goals.

DA: What is your favorite space in your home?

JE: Outside balcony. We live in a high rise in Buckhead with a wrap around porch and love sitting with friends and family and enjoying the sunrises and sunsets, planes coming into PDK and the overall beauty of the city.

Katie Daniel became a Realtor because she wants to be an advocate for others in order to make their home buying and selling experiences exciting and stress-free. A people-person, she loves that this industry gives her the opportunity to grow relationships and meet new people.

DA: Where is your favorite place to eat in Atlanta?

KD: Rumi’s Kitchen is my favorite place to eat in Atlanta. The service, food, and atmosphere come together to provide an exceptional experience. This place is my go-to for celebratory meals and I can’t wait for the new location in Midtown to open.

Jamie Grace Miller
After six moves in 12 years of marriage, Jamie Grace Miller jokes her husband won’t let her move anymore so she had to become a Realtor. The reality is she has a passion for homes. The hunt, the negotiating and all the people she gets to talk to in the in-between makes her come alive.

DA: What is your favorite space in your home?

My favorite place in my home is our coffee to cocktails room. Our old neighbor from southern Mississippi pinned the name. It is the only room where there are no toys, no TV, no electronics, and it has the best morning and evening light. We have the bar set up in there and my husband and I enjoy our coffee there in the mornings and in the evenings we reward ourselves with an adult beverage.

Welcome everyone!
